    Even though he initially crushed us by revealing to us that the moon – the fascinating destination of the lovers’ eyes – is nothing but a dark and cold place filled with holes, our fondness of him and his classes has only increased. The man who taught us natural sciences had the courage to talk about the body after the bloody conflict in Hama, a conflict neutrally referred to in Syria as “the events of the 80s.” Our natural sciences teacher insisted that we must familiarize ourselves with the map of our body even before the map of our country.
